Reverse Transfer at OSUIT

This process allows students who have transferred from OSUIT to a four-year college or university to apply their combined credits toward earning an associate degree from OSUIT. By leveraging credits from both institutions, students can enhance their credentials and achieve an additional academic milestone.

How It Works

With your consent, the Office of the Registrar at your four-year institution will send your transcripts to OSUIT at the end of each semester. OSUIT will then evaluate your additional credits to determine if they fulfill the requirements for an associate  degree. Once confirmed, and with your approval, OSUIT will award you the applicable associate degree.

Benefits to Students

  • Enhanced Credentials: An associate degree is a recognized and valuable credential that can increase employment opportunities and salary potential.
  • Increased Graduation Rates: Students who earn an associate degree through reverse transfer are more likely to complete their bachelor’s degree.
  • Efficient Pathway: Associate of Science and Associate of Arts degrees from Oklahoma institutions satisfy general education requirements for a bachelor degree, potentially reducing the total number of credit hours needed. Consult your academic advisor for more details.

Requirements for Reverse Transfer

  • Must be a junior or senior at a participating four-year institution with at least 15 credit hours earned from OSUIT.
