Scholarships

At OSU Institute of Technology, we prioritize student recruitment and retention through various scholarships. Understanding the financial stress of education, we offer numerous scholarship opportunities with different eligibility criteria to help reduce costs. Our commitment is to make education more accessible and affordable for all students.

Tuition Waivers

Tuition waiver scholarships are scholarships that cover a portion of the tuition charges and cannot exceed the tuition charges. Maintaining full-time enrollment (12 or more credit hours) and satisfactory academic progress are required to receive tuition waivers. There are several different types of tuition waivers, including the following:

  • Resident Tuition Waivers Scholarships - are partial tuition waivers awarded to Oklahoma residents. Awards are made by the date of processed application for admission and receipt of ACT and transcripts. For more information, please see our Tuition Waiver Scale. Funds are limited and not guaranteed.
  • Non-Resident Tuition Waiver Scholarships - are partial tuition waivers awarded to Non-Resident students who meet the eligibility criteria. Students under 21 years of age are required to live on campus unless they are married or have a dependent.  For more information on eligibility criteria, please see Non-Resident Tuition Waiver Policy. Funds are limited and not guaranteed.
  • Independent Living Act (Foster Care Tuition Waivers) - are awarded to eligible students who have been in Department of Human Services custody for at least nine months between the ages of 16 and 18. For more information, contact the Oklahoma Independent Living Program at 405-521-3778 or the University of Oklahoma National Resource Center for Youth Services at 800-397-2945.
  • National Guard Tuition Waivers - are awarded to eligible National Guard Service members. For more information on eligibility, please speak with the Education Office at the service member’s unit.
  • International Tuition Waiver Application and Instructions - OSUIT offers a partial scholarship (tuition waiver) for international students, lowering tuition costs by $500 USD each term. This competitive financial aid can be granted to new international student applicants who provide required documentation prior to the submission deadline and who become selected by the international tuition waiver committee. Students receiving the tuition waiver will be notified of the award prior to the first day of his or her program start date. Learn more about the international admission application process.

OSUIT Foundation Scholarships

OSUIT Foundation Scholarships are funded by generous donors, including individuals, agencies, and organizations. These scholarships are awarded three times a year—in the fall, spring, and summer—based on donor-specific criteria. Students meeting satisfactory academic progress and donor requirements are automatically considered. For need-based scholarships, submitting a FAFSA is required. Scholarship amounts and availability depend on funding. For more information, contact scholarships@okstate.edu.

A separate scholarship application is not required for scholarships listed in this PDF. Students who are enrolled full-time (i.e., 12 semester credit hours or more) and are meeting satisfactory academic progress, as well as any additional requirements set forth by the donor, will be automatically considered for these scholarships. Students must be enrolled at least five (5) weeks prior to the beginning of the semester for scholarship consideration.
